Nicole Simone

Today’s episode is a reunion of sorts.

You see, one of my earliest interactions with Gregg Tilston was being interviewed by him for a job with Flight Centre. After I turned him down I told him one of my goals was to have him as a client. And while it didn’t happen while he was with Flight Centre he did sponsor an event I led: MusicConnectTO.

And today’s guest actually performed at that event as Late July. My next guest has been writing songs and performing for well over a decade. She is also the founder of the charity, Redemption Paws that has rescued hundreds and hundreds of dogs from the ravages of climate change and hurricanes.

Please Welcome to the Cadillac Fairview Toronto Eaton Centre studio, Nicole Simone.

Tom Wilson – Award Winning Musician, Painter, Author

When our next guest walked on stage the crowd at The Great Hall in Toronto popped. A giant of a man with long, dark, wavy hair and wearing a dark, long coat came on stage and read from his book. This was March 29, 2018.

I had no clue who this person was. Why did he read from a book?

My next guest was raised in Hamilton, ON. He is an award-winning musician, singer, songwriter, an author, painter and visual artist.

The liner notes in his book, “Beautiful Scars”, reads, “Along the way he became a father and a grandfather, battled demons and addiction, and he waited, hoping for the truth to emerge. and when it did, it would sweep across the St. Lawrence River to the Mohawk reserve of Kahnawake in Quebec , on to the heights of the Manhattan skyline.” I now understood why he read from his book.

Please Welcome to the show, Tom Wilson.

Patricia O’Callaghan

Vivascene has called my next guest “one of the best singers ever to come out of Canada.” The National Post said, “This Toronto soprano can sing a 100-year old German tune so lustily that you almost don’t need a translation to know that someone’s about to get his throat cut, or get laid, or both.”

My next guest is an award-winning classical singer who grew up in Northern Ontario wanting to be a rockstar. Or a nun.

Please Welcome to the show, Patricia O’Callaghan!

SATE

SATE (meaning): satisfy a desire to the full.

MusicForLunch.com said her music leaves you exhausted but leaves a fire burning in your soil that wasn’t there before. NOW magazine calls her a tornado of a stage presence.

When I saw her earlier this year headlining the Horseshoe Tavern she blew the roof off the historic venue.

I am thrilled to welcome to the show, SATE.
